About this model
Overview
The Inspire 2000-I pairs a 2.4 cubic foot non-catalytic firebox with a wide 20 1/4 by 9 1/2 inch letterbox window, which gives it a different look from the near-square Matrix models. Three faceplates are offered: a cuttable 32 by 50 inch plate and narrow U-shape or four-sided plates for tighter faces.
It is EPA 2020 cordwood certified at 2.3 g/hr published emissions with 72% HHV efficiency, and a 176 CFM heat-activated blower is included. The deepest requirement in the range is its minimum opening depth of 20 3/4 inches, which is the figure that most often rules it in or out.

Installation
Depth decides this one. At 20 3/4 inches the minimum opening depth is the deepest in the range, so the measurement is taken before anything else is discussed. The insert is then installed in a code-compliant masonry fireplace with a continuous full-height stainless steel liner.
