About this model
Overview
The Matrix-I is a medium-large wood insert with a 2.4 cubic foot firebox and a contemporary cast-iron surround that sits flush against the fireplace face. The ceramic window measures 19 5/8 by 11 7/8 inches, giving an almost square view of the fire.
It is EPA 2020 cordwood certified at 2.3 g/hr published particulate emissions against a 2.5 g/hr limit, with 72% HHV efficiency and up to 79% at the most efficient burn rates. A 90 CFM heat-activated blower is included, and the insert is installed in a code-compliant masonry fireplace with a continuous stainless steel liner.

Installation
Like every wood insert here, the Matrix-I goes into a code-compliant masonry fireplace and connects to a continuous stainless steel liner running the full height of the chimney. The published minimum opening is the first thing to measure against.
