About this model
Overview
Rugged Split Oak is a vented gas log set with deep bark texture and a split-wood profile, made for a working wood-burning fireplace with the damper open. The look is closer to a real wood fire than a vent-free set, and most of the heat goes up the chimney.
It is supplied as a package: hand-painted ceramic logs, the G45 Triple Burner, a steel grate, glowing embers, sand or vermiculite to suit the gas type, and a damper clamp. Sizes are 18, 24 and 30 inches, and the control system runs from match light through a manual pilot to remote options. Each size lists its own minimum fireplace dimensions.

- The firebox against the published minimums: the 18" set needs about 30" front, 24" back, 13" depth and 17" height; the 24" set 34/28/13/17; the 30" set 38/34/15/18.
- Whether the chimney and damper are in working order, since this is a vented set.
- Which control system you want, as it changes what is supplied.
Worth knowing
- Vented sets send most of their heat up the chimney; they are chosen for the flame, not for heating.
- If a measurement is close to the minimum, the smaller set is the safer choice for airflow.
