About this model
Overview
The HT 3000 is Drolet's high-output stove and the one to consider when a stove is meant to heat a whole house rather than a room. The firebox is 3.5 cu ft, output runs up to 110,000 BTU/hr, and the published heating range is 1,000 to 2,700 sq ft.
Size here buys burn time as much as output: a full load is rated for up to 10 hours and takes logs up to 22 inches. It is EPA 2020 approved with 1.32 g/hr published particulate emissions, which is low for a stove of this capacity. A blower is listed as an optional accessory rather than included.
Is this right for your home?
An open-plan or multi-room home of roughly 1,000 to 2,700 sq ft where the stove is intended as primary or near-primary heat, and where there is floor space for a large appliance and its clearances.
Check before ordering
- The heated area against the published 1,000 to 2,700 sq ft range — this stove is easy to oversize.
- Floor space and wall distances, since a 3.5 cu ft stove needs more of both than the other models here.
- A chimney route sized and routed for this output.
- Firewood supply and storage for 22-inch logs, and the volume a 3.5 cu ft firebox gets through.
Worth knowing
- An oversized stove is run throttled down, which burns dirtier and glazes the chimney. If your heated area is well under 1,000 sq ft, the Escape 1800 or Heritage is the better choice.
- The blower is an optional accessory on this model, not included.

Installation
A stove this size asks more of the room than the smaller models: more floor area, larger clearances, and a chimney sized and routed for a 110,000 BTU/hr appliance. It stands on listed floor protection and runs on its own insulated flue.
Brown Chimney can check whether the room can give up the space the clearances require, size the chimney for this output, and say honestly whether the HT 3000 or a smaller stove suits the house.
Service availability depends on your location.
What to check before installation
What an assessment of this model would cover:
- Whether the heated area genuinely justifies a 3.5 cu ft firebox, or whether a smaller stove would run cleaner.
- Floor area and wall distances against the manual's clearances for this model.
- The hearth pad or floor protection required underneath.
- Chimney sizing, route and height for a 110,000 BTU/hr appliance.

Frequently asked questions
Is this stove too big for my house?
It may well be. The published range starts at 1,000 sq ft, and a stove run throttled down because it is oversized burns dirtier and glazes the chimney. If your heated area is comfortably under that, the Escape 1800 or Heritage will serve you better.
How long will one load last?
Up to 10 hours, per the manufacturer — the longest in this category. That comes from the 3.5 cu ft firebox and 22-inch log capacity, and in practice depends on the wood and the chimney draft.
Does it come with a blower?
No. On this model the blower is listed as an optional accessory. The Heritage in this category includes a 100 CFM blower as standard if that matters to you.
